We are renowned for our exemplary quality of school education. With over six decades of experience and a formidable reputation in K-12 schooling, our multi-curriculum schools – the NPS, NAFL, TISB, NPSI and GMC Educational Institutions – focus on the academic needs of ambitious learners of the 21st century.
Our first National Public School took root in Bengaluru in 1959. Since then, we have flourished, and we are one of the most prominent names in the field of Indian and International education. Our international schools in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Chennai, and Singapore provide the foundation for global citizens and leaders of the future.

Our Founders
Dr. K.P. Gopalkrishna

Our schools were envisioned by Dr. K.P. Gopalkrishna, a highly respected visionary and educator and awardee of the prestigious Karnataka Rajyotsava Award (2018) by the Government of Karnataka. He is renowned for his innovative transformation of the education system in South India, combining Western quality research-oriented education with Indian traditional heritage and value-based school systems. His primary aim was to provide exemplary education for young students and improve literacy rates in the country.
He makes no compromise when it comes to his schools. The buildings, classrooms, and sports grounds are testament to his vision of creating the finest spaces for young minds in our care. His schools reflect an unwavering commitment to offer the best for learning and growth.
Dr. Santhamma Gopalkrishna

Dr. Santhamma Gopalkrishna, our esteemed Dean and far-sighted educationist, has designed and framed the strongest academic and professional foundations with children are the centre of school design. A voracious reader, she promotes research-backed initiatives to sharpen teaching and assessment and raise quality standards. The nuts and bolts of running a school – be it selecting textbooks, hiring teachers, workshops on timetables, classroom management, time management, language development, child psychology, or setting question papers – have been steered with diligence, passion, focus and perseverance, taking our schools to the next level.

Dr Bindu Hari, our Vice Chairperson, started her career over thirty years ago teaching Science and Maths. Under her leadership, our institutions continue to expand and evolve their culture of aspiration, empowerment and strong community. She has strategised new ways to grow knowledge, values, life skills, and a sense of local and global that can help shape a better world. She has set stringent quality standards in our school processes, driven strategic change through training, upskilling and collaboration, including 360-degree feedback appraisal systems, strengthening school leadership teams and implementing seamless succession plans across all our institutions. A TEDx speaker, Dr. Bindu has addressed more than 100,000 parents, trained more than 3000 teachers, over 500 middle-level leaders, and several Principals in various skills.

CBSE Schools
Our CBSE schools stand out for the high quality of education they offer with professionally trained staff, cutting-edge IT infrastructure, STEAM and Science Labs, research hubs, and more. NPS Rajajinagar, Bengaluru, is currently the only school granted autonomy by the CBSE to frame its own curriculum and conduct examinations at the Secondary level in Science and Math.
International Schools – NAFL
National Academy for Learning (NAFL) Basaveshwarnagar, Bengaluru, was our first international school offering the Cambridge IGCSE and A Level programmes along with the CISCE’s ICSE and ISC programmes. Dr. K. P. Gopalkrishna innovated with a school programme much ahead of its time, creating a bridge between the Indian educational system and international curricula. It offered children of NRI families returning to India a flexible, progressive and happy learning environment that embraced their different academic backgrounds with ease.
International Schools – TISB
Following the success of NAFL, The International School Bangalore (TISB) was founded in 2000 as India’s very first IB World School, combining traditional values with a modern, global approach to life and learning. It put India on the map for educational tourism. Set in a stunning landscape of over 140 acres, TISB is ranked one of the country’s most reputable, international boarding and day schools, setting excellent academic standards in both the IGCSE and IB programmes.
International Schools – NPSI
The NPS brand moved beyond Indian shores, when Dr. K.P. Gopalkrishna was invited by the Government of Singapore to set up NPS International (NPSI) Singapore in 2008. The comprehensive international programme offered here with the IGCSE and IB programmes grows young scholars and future world leaders who are mindful of their place in the community and the planet. Subsequently, NPS International (NPSI) schools were also founded in Mysuru and Chennai with the aim of offering students and parents a multi-curriculum pedagogy to choose from.
TISB Training Academy & NPS QA
The TISB Training Academy (TTA), our invaluable teacher training division, and the formidable NPS Quality Assurance Cell, which was set up in 2015, together finetune and enhance the quality of education we deliver both within our schools and to external institutions.

Global Montessori Centres

The Global Montessori Centres (GMC) are a part of the NPS, NAFL, TISB, NPSI and GMC Educational Institutions, that is dedicated to early childhood development and education.
Across our NPS group schools, we offer the two widely followed and successful Early Years Educational Programs – Montessori and Kindergarten. Parents with young children can choose between the Montessori and Kindergarten programs, based on their wish and requirements. Both the programs ensure excellent developmental and learning outcomes, paving the way for success in future learning and life.
We currently have dedicated GMC campuses in Rajajinagar (West Bengaluru), in HSR layout (South East Bengaluru) and in Gopalapuram and Perumbakkam (Chennai). We also have Montessori environments in our other campuses.
NPS Rajajinagar
Our oldest school and one of the most prestigious institutions in South India, NPS Rajajinagar started in the year 1959 under the pioneering effort and careful nurturing by our Founder Chairman, Dr. K P Gopalkrishna and Dean, Dr. Santhamma Gopalkrishna. NPS Rajajinagar is renowned for its academic excellence, discipline and ethical practices.
NPS Gopalapuram
Our flagship school in Chennai, NPS Gopalpuram was founded in 1970. Over the years, we have developed a rich heritage steeped in excellence, where we uphold our resolute commitment to academic rigor, character development, and adapting to the ever-changing global landscape.
NPS Indiranagar
Founded in 1982, NPS Indiranagar is committed to imparting high quality holistic education by giving students the opportunities to develop their creative and social skills through a wide variety of programmes in a caring, innovative and healthy environment.
NAFL (Basveshwarnagar)
Established in 1994 by Dr. K.P. Gopalkrishna, NAFL puts the child at the heart of learning and personal development. Our caring, creative, holistic approach nurtures each child right from Kindergarten and Montessori to grade 12. Our core belief is that learning is interlinked and interdisciplinary and conceptual mastery is key to success.
The International School Bangalore
TISB is one of the first international schools started in Bangalore – and our first IB curriculum school. Founded in 2001, TISB delivers consistently high academic standards in both IB and IGCSE and strives to combine traditional values with a modern, global approach to life and learning.
NPS Koramangala
NPS Koramangala, established in 2003, is a vibrant, thriving and diverse community of children, parents and educators united with an ardent desire to blossom the potential of our scholars. Our institution persistently strives to create an atmosphere of safety, harmony and cordiality where youngsters interact, share and adapt themselves to varied backgrounds.
NPSI Singapore
Our first school in Singapore, NPS International was founded in 2007, to meet the burgeoning demand for world-class education, in keeping with the new educational paradigm. Our extensive IB Diploma programme is among the widest in subject choices in Singapore. The integrated approach we use is pivoted on individual attention, which in turn becomes the springboard for our students to discover, engage and develop their multiple interests and capabilities.
NPS HSR Layout
Founded in 2008, NPS HSR’s focus lies in nurturing the unique potential of each student within a conducive learning environment. Core values are strongly emphasized, serving as the bedrock for their future endeavors. According to a survey conducted by Swarajya magazine, NPS HSR ranks 5th among the Top 12 best performing schools in Bangalore.
TISB Training Academy
The Teacher Training and Quality Analysis wing of the NPS, NAFL, TISB, NPSI and GMC Education Institutions, the TISB Training Academy (TTA) helps teachers develop their professional skills, to address the challenges facing education today, within a rapidly changing socio-economic context and a globally competitive environment.
NPSI Mysore
NPS International Mysore was established in 2013 to cater to the burgeoning international demand for high quality education in the context of a rapidly globalising educational scenario. We have developed a reputation for upholding the highest quality standards in education and for nurturing young minds with an emphasis on discipline, personal accountability, empathy and cultural understanding.
NPSI Chennai
NPSI Chennai, founded in 2014, is a values-driven school with an empowering, child-centric environment. Our vision is to develop students into socially responsible and productive global citizens with the skills, values and integrity to positively impact, and contribute to, the world around them.Global Montessori Centre
A school dedicated to our youngest learners, the Global Montessori Centre (GMC) schools offer Montessori education. Established in 2015, our GMC schools have continued to transform the early years’ landscape with contemporary, future-forward and digitally-savvy education. Our independent GMC campuses include GMC Rajajinagar (1st R Block, 2nd Stage), GMC HSR Layout (17th A Main Rd, Sector 4) and GMC Gopalapuram (Ganapathy Colony).
